We are open

This Sunday (8th July) the allotments will be open to visitors as part of ‘Open Gardens’.

On this one day of the year we will be selling produce grown by allotment holders, together with jam, preserves and many other items.

Please come and join us up Coley Lane, take a look at our plots and you will be made most welcome.

All proceeds are donated to Katherine House Hospice.

Prize Winners

At the recent AGM Chairman Roy Hill-Baldwin congratulated Rob Thompson right (plot 57) for Best Plot and Nigel Moore left (plot 20) for best newcomer.
The prizes to the value of £25 each were kindly sponsored by Wyevale Garden Centres. From their website Rob chose Tayberry plants and Nigel a seedling cloche.

Annual General Meeting

The Association’s AGM will be held at Great Haywood Sports and Social Club on Thursday 26th April 2018.

All plot holders are most welcome. Light refreshments will be served and there will be a bar.

Winter Pics

Three more Wintry scenes have been added to the gallery courtesy of Mel Newman (plot 5). If you have any photos, recipes, sales or wants, or ideas for days out that fellow plot holders may enjoy such as the potato day put forward by Rob Thompson (plot 57) then let us know.

Seed orders

A reminder to get your seed orders in. Check out the prices which are extremely competitive and hand in your completed forms with cheque by 8th October. Don’t forget the Society also benefits from this scheme.

Great news for the villages

At Warwick Castle on the 14th September 2017 it was announced that both Colwich & Little Haywood and Great Haywood had achieved gold in the Royal Horticultural Society Britain in Bloom competition this year. This is fantastic news so well done to all who put in so much hard work.

You may be interested to know that the judge was shown the allotments as part of Little Haywood’s portfolio. He was particularly impressed with the wildlife area and made a comment on the judging report about it.
