Compost talk

On Thursday 26th July many members enjoyed a talk on composting by Mick Poultney.
Mick knows more about the magic of composting than almost anyone alive. Mick is an award winning vegetable grower, a lecturer and a garden demonstrator and judge from the Black County in the West Midlands in England. He has produced a training dvd on composting methods for the UK’s National Vegetable Society.

Clearly obsessed with producing lots of great compost in extra fast time, Mick passed on many useful tips to 45 members who purchased tickets.

Katherine House

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this very successful day, from those members who donated produce, to those that bought items and some members that did both.
Thank you also to those people who answered the call for gazebos, particularly Libby Moss who loaned us a gazebo and refrigerator for the day.
We raised £400 for Katherine House Hospice beating last years record of £280.
We received a thank you letter from Katherine House who benefitted in total by £3600 from ‘Open Gardens’
